Carol Wintle.
Carol Wintle’s Solo Art Exhibit – “Port of Entry” – November 2013 “Wintle is an informed and intelligent art maker who takes risks with every piece. Her psychological level of art production is one of the most fascinating themes within the show; the lack of ambiguity, brutal honesty and emotion is a relief from much of the art being produced today.” –Cole Tracy – Art Critic, artscope magazine.
Carol Wintle’s mixed-media expresses her interest in a world of stories. The two-dimensional collages provide a journey from fantasy to reality and back, through seasons of hot, cold, cool and warm, from birds and trees to city streets. From illness to recovery. From death to birth. Through reflections and celebrations, the collages speak of wisdom and happiness, challenge and personal responsibility, and the present moment filled with mindfulness and gratitude. What consistently shine through this art are the healing powers of human compassion and nature.
Mixed-media artist, Carol Wintle is also a psychotherapist with 30 years experience, a published author, an improvisational and therapeutic storyteller and a bullying prevention/intervention specialist.
Wintle’s collages were exhibited in group shows at the Newburyport Art Association Gallery, Newburyport, MA, Cambrige College Gallery, Cambridge, MA, Harriet Tubman House Gallery, Boston, MA, Stove Factory Gallery, Charlestown, MA, Hope Gallery, Bristol, RI, – Belmont Art Gallery, Belmont, MA and the Watertown Art Association, Watertown, MA.
